Julian has developed the following key skills

  • Key role in the commercialisation of some of Australia’s best drug candidates including Venetoclax/Venclexta (Walter and Eliza Hall Institute, internationalyl marketed,) PRMT5 and MOZ (Cancer Therapeutics CRC, Phase 1) and Kapanol/Kadian (Faulding Pharmaceuticals, inttrnationally marketed)

  • Emphasis on translation and commercialisation of science and technologies. Broad experience in new technologies, new products, innovation and strategic planning as drivers of commercial success. Considerable experience at the “academic/business” interface.

  • In-depth managerial, organisational, technical and development experience in science and technology-based industries. This integrated experience spans marketing, sales, R&D, business development, licensing, technology transfer, supply and manufacturing in small and large operations.

  • Broad international experience through major positions in Sweden, Great Britain, Japan and Australia. Strong business emphasis on North America, Europe and Asia and cross-cultural skills.

  • Experience in leading and facilitating organisational change in both the academic and commercial business sectors with a passion for matching organisation capacity and capability with corporate strategy for biotechnology ouitcomes. Extensive experience of transitions to collaborative management structures, implementation of project management, cycle-time reduction

  • Return-oriented leader concentrating on strategic use of resources, managing transitions (start-up, turnaround, acquisition, divestment) and linking short- with long-term business objectives. High demands on personal quality and team skills. Major focus on organisation design, team development and personal leadership.

  • Market and customer-focused executive with experience of a broad range of technologies, products, brands, and customers (including enterprises, consumers, research institutes and higher education). Strong commitment to the value of service and the need for maintaining customer excitement.
